Sat Nov 28, 2009 10:16 pm by Tulsa

Hey I am new here, new to RC crawlers, used to have a couple 1:1 crawlers, I just got a AX10, mostly stuck, has Novak engine, looking at ordering a TCS Eclipse chassis and bent links, eventually i would like to do 4 wheel steer or dig. but not for now. The same Tuffone that some of you already know. I dont make a lot of comps due to work and distance, but the crawling spirit is still within my blood. I live down in the Lawton area, which is in SW OK for those that have never been west of I35. There are rocks down here, and we I hope to see some changes so that we could all do some buisness down this way. Lets Meet In The Middle.

Just finished my K-5 Blazer paint job. Pics VIDEOS ADDED

Post by avalanche on Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:44 pm

My wife bought me a pro-line K-5 Blazer body for my birthday. Somewhat of a senimental trait goes along with this truck. I tried to do a replica of my 1:1 Blazer that was my first vehicle and alot of memories were shared in it, so kudos to my wife for surprizing me with a great gift! I will try to find some pics of the 1:1 so you can see the resemblence.

hotrod?

Post by avalanche on Sat Apr 25, 2009 12:53 am

Just cause it doesn't top out at 3-8 mph doesn't mean it can't crawl....I just haven't had time to get a good crawl video together.

crawl speed is just a pinion swap away.

It's just my opinion, and don't take anything i say personal PLEASE, but I don't see how anyone can stand to run these 35-75t motors. Even with 9.6V they have terrible to mediocer wheel speed. The 27t that I am running is not something you would want to run at any comp. But for a trail, fun run, recreational running this motor is just more entertaining. I either run a custom 3600 Venom 8 cell pack or an Orion 4600 7 cell pack. I still have plenty of low speed torque for anything that the chassis can handle crawl wise and my run times are like 45min+ with the orion pack. It's like a best of both worlds approch that looses some of that u-joint breaking torque for some extra kick on top end.

I bought a 55t integy for my first motor in the ARTR, it came out asap. I just keep it around for if I ever enter a comp. as with my hacked artr scorpion body to through on to "fit in" the comp trails and the rigs that it seems most of the guys on here run.

I'm glad to find a place were fellow crawlers from OK can talk and get together, awsome site!
