The same Tuffone that some of you already know. I dont make a lot of comps due to work and distance, but the crawling spirit is still within my blood. I live down in the Lawton area, which is in SW OK for those that have never been west of I35. There are rocks down here, and we I hope to see some changes so that we could all do some buisness down this way. Lets Meet In The Middle.

losi comp crawler problems. newby needs help.

Post by fastadam on Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:14 pm

hey guys need some info. i have a lcc and its all new. i am running an integy 55t motor and a traxxas xl5 speedo and a 16 tooth pinion. my roommate bought a night crawler after he saw my lcc.

well the problem im having is that my lcc will run fine on flat ground....but as soon as the front tires come to a climb...even small it will bind and stop. i even tried my roommates motor and speedo and it did the same thing.

its like something in the drive line is binding under load...i checked the front gears and they seem fine...i also checked my tranny to make sure it was free...all checked good.

it was doing great till yesterday...what in the drive line could be binding up? i gotta be able to out perform this damn night crawler or ill never hear the end of it! lol.

i am running a small pinion now. i took two shims out of the rear axle and presto no more binding! lol. i called shawn at hobby town and picked his brain. its amazing that those two little spacers had that much effect. im runnin 7.4v its just what i had availabe to throw in it.

i think ill be gettin the novak goat 18.5 soon. runnin 3s lipo. that should be the ticket! lol. im really likin this crawlin stuff! Smile ill be crawlin at adams creek this saturday. i wont be racin just crawlin. it would be cool to get a couple more guys out there.

one word for you brushless the lcc likes to run on brushless you can run a brushed setup bu it needs to beed at least a 35 turn or lower ihave 2 lcc's and had the same problem i went with a tekin rs speedo and a 17.5 motor 13 tooth pinion and it is one bad lcc it well climb anything but the 55t does not have enough wheel speed so i would go burshless with a 3s lipo

I have the 3c goat in mine and it came alive. I was running moa and changed to a shafty agian (I think the moa on a losi is a turd). Before I went brushless I was running a 21t Titan with a 12t pinion. It was awesome as a brushed setup.

I told you, and you didn't want to listen when you were buying that 55T. I think my price will be around $12. Oh yeah, and press that fancy little button on the side of your keyboard that says Caps Lock. Very Happy

I'm going to go crawl around 4pm Tomorrow at the creek. Also going to see if a few of the other locals want to head out if you guys are interested.
